The color of these sapphires! The east west setting! The elongated / oval old mine cut! The stackability! The platinum! I could go on and on...
A vintage platinum east west three stone band with wonderful color and sparkle. Chunky bezel settings to all three stones! As with all my platinum stackers, I love layering it with a yellow donut band and this one brings the color and sparkle!
This is a vintage setting, the center diamond being older / antique, perhaps an heirloom stone re-set, etc. It is a spready one at around one carat, appearing larger than its carat weight face up, flanked by the lighter blue sapphires. I purchased it in France, there is a French goldsmith stamp to the back. No purity mark but sold to me from a reputable source as platinum and tests as such definitively.
No real damage to any of the stones and they are well surrounded in sturdy prongs making this one ready for regular wear!~

MEASUREMENTS:
The ring is a size 7 1/4
The ring face is 7.3mm north south and 20mm east west for the stones, and 4.2mm off the finger.
The ring weighs 6.95g.
The diamond is 7.7x6.3mm and measures (while set), just shy of one carat. Note that this is an estimate. Exact measurements cannot be determined without removing the stone which I would not do, and the stone extends an unknown amount underneath the sturdy bezel. Even while set, it is on the spreadier side facing up over a carat, appearing closer to 1 1/4 carat by its mm measurements. The pear sapphires are 6.5x5mm, around 3/4 carat each.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
I would say better than most condition for age with a wonderful sheen and polish to the sapphires and no dullness or abrasions. The diamond has a flake of loss to the underside of the girdle edge, tucked under the bezel leaving a frosty spot under magnification. This is only slightly eye visible if it catches the light and you are seeking it out, as it is not on the top side of the stone. As far as inclusions, this one has a better clarity than most for an antique stone - it is eye clean with just the faintest speck inclusions under strong magnification. Slight warmth to the color typical for the period. The sapphires - one is eye clean, the other has eye visible inclusions in one area that are circular crystals with some mineral deposits, the color does help mask it but they can catch the light. The color of the sapphires are excellent as well as their condition. Great setting, sturdy and ready for wear.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : ) There are no dark spots to the gold, it was just difficult to photograph because it is so shiny and mirrored that it reflects its surroundings including the green trees out the window.
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
