SAPPHIRE Natural Blue Green Single & Square Step Cut DIAMOND Halo Ring 18k Gold Platinum Vintage to Antique Art Deco Teal Gift Stacker
I am selling an assortment of vintage to antique jewelry and rings which I have hunted for and gathered one piece at a time from around the world. Some examples seen in the last photo - thanks for stopping by!
ABOUT:
We love our halo rings and here we have a unique vintage one that has a bit of a twist with the little square step cut diamond bezel set at each side. It adds a little unique flare and a fun geometry to the piece. These are a nice accent, along with the rest of the older single cut diamonds in the halo to contrast with the beautiful natural sapphire.
The sapphire is in really good condition and is somehow a combination of rich greens and blues. In most light it appears as blue but as you study in more, especially in direct light, we can see the greenish teal / peacock colored accents that glow from within. A really wonderful and interesting stone with a few natural inclusions that can catch the light to add to the effect. While many in the gem world consider inclusions an "imperfection", when it comes to sapphires, they can often actually enhance the color and beauty of the stone.
This is a vintage to possibly late antique period / Art Deco ring crafted in 18k gold. The halo is topped in platinum as was customary to set the diamonds in a white metal. It is stamped for both. Found in the UK.
This piece is in great condition with really sturdy prongs around the sapphire making this beauty ready for regular wear!
Antique boxes, props, staircases and bannisters ; ) not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size 6, a little over.
It weighs 3.3 grams.
Ring face 11mm north south and 5.9mm tall off the finger.
The sapphire is about 8x5mm, I was told when I purchased it that it is around a carat. The diamonds in the halo are small, about 1.7mm each give or take.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
The sapphire has natural inclusions, most notably a crystal formation on one side that can catch the light but is not visible in ambient light. The stone is in better than most condition with just a few tiny nibbles or really more just flea bites to the table facet, but overall a wonderful color with beautiful sheen and polish.
There is no "muddiness" to the setting or ring face - apologies, I can see now in the zoom photos that it needs a bit better cleaning so I'll give it another soak and gentle scrub before shipping just to get any lotion or soap buildup cleared away! : )
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
I would be delighted if you'd follow me in my shop. Thanks for stopping by!
