Georgian Era Antique 200 Year Old Gilt Sterling Silver Floral Chased Skinny Wedding Band Stacker Ring
ABOUT:
This ornate beauty would have been for the peasant class but that doesn't make it any less special! Not being able to afford the gold, they crafted this one in sterling silver, with the same gorgeous floral designs we see in other fine 200 year old Georgian era pieces.
The piece is gilt on the inside, so as not to cause tarnish or discoloration on the finger, and studying it under magnification, there is some remaining in the recesses so it must have been vermeil all over originally. With time that has worn away on the outside leaving only the warm glow in the recesses.
Lovely in a mixed metal stack as its bright and vibrant coloring goes well with yellow gold and diamond settings where the diamond is set in a white metal customary for the period. A beautiful design and texture.
Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
It is a size 7. It weighs 2 grams.
The ring face is 3mm north south and 1.5mm tall off the finger.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Slightly out of round from age and wear over centuries, not noticeable while wearing.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
Thanks so much for looking at my items!
