ABOUT:
A glittery French antique diamond band with ring face entirely encrusted in old cut diamonds! Crafted in platinum, this five stone band holds four old mine cuts and a center transitional cut totaling carats.
I always love to find these rings with the little gemset prongs / rose cut diamond spacers between the larger old mine cuts like this one has. They add an additional glitter and a wonderful texture filing in all the spaces sparkle.
With the beautiful scrolling details on the vertical edges.
Found in France with their hallmark for platinum and a maker's stamp.
Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
A snug Size 5 1/2
Exact carat weight is unknown as I would not remove the stones but estimates to around one carat.
The center stone is 4mm, then 4mm and 3.7mm and the end stones at 3.1mm.
Stands 4.3mm off the finger, 6.1mm north to south and 17mm east west for all five diamonds.
It weighs 4.2 grams.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
All my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. Typical antique diamonds with some natural inclusions - most with several frosty spot and crystal speck inclusions multiple in number. No dark carbon. The center transitional cut is eye clean. A bit of warmth also typical especially to one of the smallest end stones. So it is priced accordingly with these things in mind.
Sturdy shank, but the inside of the ring face is blunt when you rub it against the finger. Once on it is not noticeable but when sliding on and off it is felt against the finger. One spot on the vertical edge had the scrolled pattern smoothed out and has a bit of a warm glow there, perhaps it was originally connected to another ring.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
