Antique Old Mine Cut DIAMOND Swirl Embossed Georgian ANTIQUE Ring Warm Pale Yellow Stone 14k Gold Silver Collet Band Stacker Solitaire Gift
ABOUT:
I love that textbook embossed detail of the Georgian period and this one has all that loveliness leading up to wonderful old mine cut diamond that is a pale yellow in color. Delicious coloring and patina to the piece.
The beautiful natural diamond is set in a silver collet setting.
Beautiful antique ring with still a nice reflectivity even with the closed back, not appearing rusty or muddy or dingy. Just the beautiful color of the old mine cut diamond, meant for fireside and candlelight with a softer antique sparkle.
The piece is in 14k yellow gold with the silver collet as was customary to set diamonds in a white metal. Beautiful patina, coloring and sparkle. Beautiful stacker or alone.
Antique box is not included. Please note the detailed measurements that I always provide, as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures where I am required to show zoomed in detail.
No hallmarks remain as is common for pieces of this age but tests as 14k.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size 6 1/4. It weighs 2.3 grams.
The diamond is about 3.7mm and a chunky cut. Carat weight unknown as it can't be measured without removing it.
The ring face is 7 mm north south.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
The diamond is well set so the piece is quite stable which is nice to find for something older than 200 years. A beautiful ready to wear stacker, we just recommend that it doesn't get wet due to the closed back setting.
The antique stone itself has a wonderful clarity with really no eye visible inclusions. Typical antique diamond in a closed setting though with some slight cloudy spots in the background but it's a beautiful stone in cut, clarity and its fabulous color.Very tidy and comfortable to wear. A fine example from the Georgian period. The gold is on the paler side due to the unregulated blend of alloys used at the time which varied from piece to piece and affects how it patinas over time, along with the darkening patina of the silver collet.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any glaring issues above and they are all still wearable.
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
